Teen Patti Master: App Guide, Rules & Legal Status (2026)

Teen Patti Master is one of the most searched card-game apps in India. People look it up for the game itself, for "new version" and "old version" APKs, and to find out whether it is real, safe and legal. This page answers those questions directly. It is an independent guide: we are not connected to the app's developer, and we do not provide a download link. The last section explains why.

What is Teen Patti Master?

Teen Patti Master is a mobile app built around teen patti, India's three-card game. Players join tables, place boot amounts and bets, and compete for the pot using the standard hand rankings. Like most apps of this kind, it is distributed as an APK file through websites and Telegram or WhatsApp links rather than the Play Store, and its tables are played for real money through a deposit wallet.

Apps in this category typically bundle several other quick card and casino-style games alongside teen patti, such as rummy, Andar Bahar and Dragon vs Tiger, and advertise signup and referral rewards. Because those features revolve around deposits and cash withdrawals, the app falls under the Online Gaming Act's definition of an online money game.

How teen patti works

Each player gets three cards, and the best hand wins. From highest to lowest, the hands are trail, pure sequence, sequence, colour, pair and high card.

Players can bet blind (without looking) or seen (after looking, at double the stake), ask for a sideshow, or call a show when two players remain. Is Teen Patti Master legal in India?

Not as a real-money game. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, in force since 1 May 2026, prohibits offering online money games in India, whether they are based on skill, chance or both. Teen patti played for rupee stakes is an online money game under that definition. The Act penalises operators, advertisers and payment providers; it prescribes no penalty for simply playing. But deposits in an app operating against the law have no regulatory protection. Read what the Act means for players.

Is Teen Patti Master real or fake?

The app itself exists, but the name is heavily copied. Searches for "Teen Patti Master new version", "old version", "2026" or "2027" return dozens of look-alike sites and APKs. Some are repackaged copies carrying adware or banking trojans; others are unrelated apps borrowing the name. Warning signs:

• The file size is far from the roughly 55 MB of the original APK. A much smaller file is often just a downloader for something else.
• The installer asks for SMS, Accessibility, notification access or device admin rights. A card game never needs these.
• You are asked to uninstall your current version first to install a "new version" from a different site.
• Withdrawals are blocked until you pay a "fee", "tax" or make another deposit.
• Payments go to a personal UPI ID or a QR code shared in chat.

Already have it installed? Protect yourself

1. Check its permissions in Settings → Apps → Teen Patti Master → Permissions and remove anything beyond internet and notifications.
2. Do not deposit more money, and never pay to unlock a withdrawal.
3. Remove saved UPI and card details from the app.
4. If money was taken or a withdrawal fee was demanded, call the National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 and report at cybercrime.gov.in.
5. If you want to stop, uninstall the app and leave the Telegram and WhatsApp groups that promote it.

Why we don't offer a download link

Since 1 May 2026, advertising or promoting an online money game is an offence in India. Linking to a real-money teen patti APK, or advertising its bonuses, would be exactly that. It would also mean vouching for an app whose payouts nobody can independently guarantee. So this page informs; it does not promote.
